The State of Mobile: Where Are We Now and Where Are We Going?

If there’s one truth we can agree on, it’s that mobile technology moves fast. Just when a big idea starts to catch on (like beacons), new innovations are introduced that need exploring. Can we build a commerce platform on a messaging app (chat commerce)? You think you’ve just about mastered Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest and along comes Snapchat, Periscope and what seem like countless others. This session will give you the lay of the land and a taste of what’s to come.

Best-in-Class Mobile Experience

Adjectives like “smooth,” “easy,” “fun,” “intuitive,” “personalized” and “useful” are typically used to describe a best-in-class mobile experience. We’ll look at examples from different sectors to see what it takes to delight your customer and keep them coming back.

The phone and tablet aren’t the only devices that are mobile. We now have connected cars, smartwatches and other fashion accessories. We’ll examine each opportunity.

Real-Life Applications for IoT

It’s time to think beyond the hype of Internet of Things, to look beyond the technology and find actual business value, particularly around consumer engagement. We’ll also identify and define the primary use cases for consumer-facing IoT (e.g. reward, decision-making, innovation, and more) for how brands can leverage emerging technological capabilities to enhance customer interaction and experience.

Are Apps Dead? Long Live the App!

According to Flurry, US consumers now spend more time in apps than watching TV. However, most of that time is spent in the top five apps. So should you be investing time and resources into your app or developing more apps? Do apps provide the best experience or are there better alternatives?

Virtual and Augmented Reality – Even Better Than the Real Thing?

Virtual reality devices such as Oculus Rift has the potential to take immersive experiences to an all-new level, while augmented reality is perhaps VR’s more practical cousin. In-App Purchases

Apple Pay now represents 1 in 4 purchases made through Panera’s mobile ordering. PayPal has recently enabled Venmo to facilitate in-app purchases. Amazon, Facebook, Google and others are vying to be the go-to intermediary for making the payment process more frictionless. Should your company embrace one or more of these platforms?

2:30 pm | Breakout Session

Customer Authentication: Could Biometrics Lead to the Death of Passwords?

Remembering passwords is a pain point for customers and weak passwords are a liability. Biometrics has been in use for some time but has really began to pick up steam with it being built into many smartphones and tablets. Other biometric options include voice and facial recognition. Coupled with a PIN, this authentication process is a better and more secure experience.

Location, Location, Location

In the bricks-and-mortar world, they say location is everything. With mobile, we have the opportunity to engage the customer and tap into their location to provide relevant offers and recommendations through geofencing. We’ll talk about capturing that on-the-go consumer to drive them in-store.
